I think it had been mentioned as a possibility when the penalties were first handed down, but there hasn't been any links to the BCS confirming that such would be the case. Looks like we'll be seeing "No-Pete" t-shirts now. |

Nope yours is the 1st. I fully expected as much.
I seriously doubt SC wins any appeals. McNair RB coach was aware Bush and his family activities and failed to properply report them and lied about knowing them. He knew in December 2004 so that title is out as well as the entire 2005 season. |
Gilbert Cavs team President owns Fathead and he lowered the price on Lebron fathead to $17.41. The significance of 1741 was that was the year Benedict Arnold was born.

Is it fair? No! Life is not fair, though the bigger issue is what lessons are learned. You play, win, and lose as a team. You belong to a brotherhood that is elevated above the majority on campus which brings with it greater responsibilities. Lesson 1 whatever you do reflects on the brotherhood be it good or bad, unfortunately the bad usually gets more press. When someone steps outside the rules it is the entire brotherhood that pays the price. Take the reputation of Miami as being a bunch of thugs. Did the entire team deserve to be branded with that title because of the actions of a few. The actions of a few branded the entire team, and so it is in the real world. The punishment aspect may seem outlandish to most, but the perception is always spread amongst the whole of the brotherhood therefor the application of penalties is applied in like manner. The lesson to be taken into the real world is your actions have consequences that effect others, sometimes for the rest of their lives. If the individual will not shoulder the respnosiblity of their actions then every attempt should be made to remove them from the brotherhood no matter how great their achievements would otherwise be. As you play , win, and lose you must also except the penalties for the actions of those that stepped outside the rules. Hopefully the brotherhood of players will be come all the stronger for it, and carry this lesson into the personal careers outside the confines of the game and college life. |
