Minn WAY better than I thought ...

Postby Xenon » November 9th, 2019, 2:58 pm

Minn has looked really very very good today. Better than #17.

If the hold on against PSU, they should jump ALOT ...

Amazing multi-threat offense, and a very good defense with a couple of INTs.

Go Gophers!!!

Agreed.

My question becomes... If Minnesota were to run the table, and win the Big 10. Do they make the playoff?

They would have victories over a ranked Penn State, a ranked Iowa, a ranked Wisconsin, and a ranked Ohio State in the Big 10 Championship (and all those wins in their last 5 games).

I would have to say "yes".

Whoever wins the Big 10 will make the playoff unless somehow a two loss team ends up winning it. An undefeated Minnesota will make it for sure. To keep them out would cause an implosion or the playoff system.

Over the last decade or so it has been commonplace for Minnesota to feast on a ridiculously easy early season schedule before falling apart late. Given all the close calls, I was expecting the same again this year. Hats off to PJ Fleck for turning this around. It’s still just one game which could say as much about PSU as Minnesota so I will take a wait and see approach before I’m fully bought in.

Unlike some so called pundits slamming LSU (calling it a fluke win over Bama)

This was no Fluke. Minnesota beat Penn St and they outplayed and out coached them.

They were the better team no doubt

Yep. I put Minnesota at #4 in my GACFFP. That may be a little high but they beat the old #4 and Alabama deserves to drop out of the Top 4, in my opinion.
