Teams, and games that had me saying … "Are you freakin' kidding me?"

12/26 - Quick Lane Bowl (6-6) Minnesota vs. (7-5) Georgia Tech (-4 ½) (in Detroit, MI)
12/27 - Texas Bowl (6-6) Vanderbilt (-6 ½) vs. (6-6) Baylor (in Houston, TX)
12/29 - Belk Bowl (7-5) South Carolina (-6 ½) vs. (7-5) Virginia (in Charlotte, NC)
12/29 - Peach Bowl (9-3) #10 florida vs. (10-2) #7 Michigan (-6) (in Atlanta, GA)
12/31 - Holiday Bowl (8-5) Northwestern vs. (9-4) Utah (-7 ½) (in San Diego, CA)
1/1 - Outback Bowl (8-4) #18 Mississippi State (-5) vs. (8-4) Iowa (in Tampa, FL)
1/1 - Citrus Bowl (9-3) #14 Kentucky vs. (9-3) #12 Penn State (-4) (in Orlando, FL)
1/1 - Sugar Bowl (11-2) #5 Georgia (-11) vs. (9-4) #14 Texas (in New Orleans, LA)

I finished that 26 game run with 12 wins (2 short of beating the record.)

It is interesting that this season was so predictable heading into the last two rounds of bowls (matched or exceeded only by 2003 when Sparty set the record), but then turned so unpredictable at the end. You can see that when 8 of the Top 25 WPct of all-time were this year (and 9 were in 2003).

While the number posters on here continue to dwindle, there are a lot of folks who continue to participate in the college pick em. There are a lot of familiar names who used to post on occasion who still pick games. And there are a lot of names who I am afraid who don't participate much if at all, and who I worry about their situation. Heck, I worry about mine. If suddenly I am not posting here, well that probably means I am no longer around. And there is no one who can confirm my demise as my wife has no interest in this site, nor my kids.

In Week 0, we had a lot LESS "good" matchups on the slate, and quite a few more 1-AA vs. lower P5/Mid Major types of games. And because of that fact, I included almost all of those 1-AA games, where in the past I usually didn't include them. There was only 1 game in Week 0 with a Vegas line closer that (-6).

The same fact had me completely eliminate the Week 00. In 00, there was only 4 games total, 2 were 1-AA, one was a (-14), and the other was a (-5 1/2). So I saw no real point to having a 4 game week that had 20-something players all tied for the win. So, it was eliminated.

Other than that, I don't think that I really did anything all that different, WRT picking games. It was, as you said, that the games generally were predictable for most of the year.
