Perhaps the first time you've ever paid your respects to someone from Gainesville. :D

As of a few hours ago, and no updates since then, as Mark Twain once said "the reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated".

Apparently he is still clinging to life.

You can stand him up at the gates of hell, but he won't back down...

I used to listen to Damn the Torpedoes often in high school while I was getting ready for school. I had a pretty nice stereo in my room and would play it a bit too loud. Enough so that my dad would come in and give me the look. Tom had that voice that was unmistakable. If I recall, the guitarist for the Heartbreakers was Benmont Tench, owner of one of the best and most unique names I've ever seen. Rest in Peace Tom. I'm thankful we still have your music to listen to.

The Vegas victims left a Jason Aldean concert and woke up to an amazing Tom Petty concert!
