Stanley chooses Florida St.
By Joe Schad
ESPN.com

Having been released from his letter of intent by USC this week, linebacker Glen Stanley announced Friday that he will head to Florida State.

"My heart is at Florida State," Stanley said. "I have a great connection with all the coaches. It was tough to leave USC because I liked the coaching staff but I want to play for a championship and play in a bowl game."

Stanley said he also considered Miami, South Florida, Kansas State, Texas Tech and Baylor.

Stanley is 6-foot-2, 245 pounds and played last season at Eastern Arizona Junior College. He has two seasons of eligiblity left including this season.

This comes at a perfect time after the arrest of Nigel Carr, who was projected to be the starter as Strong Side LB for the Noles.

"Ward. Takes the snap. Play action. Drops, looks, popped out of the pocket. Runs to his left, throws it downfield it is CAUGHT BY DUNN, HE'S GOT THE 1ST DOWN TO THE 40! Dunn to the 50! Dunn down the sideline to the 40, Dunn to the 30- HE SEPARATES! He's to the 20, the 10, the 5, TOUCHDOWN, FLORIDA STATE! WARRICK DUNN ON 3RD DOWN! UNBELIEVABLE!"
--Gene Deckerhoff, on Charlie Ward's pass to Warrick Dunn for a 79 yard touchdown to seal it vs. Florida in 1993 and send FSU to the '93 Championship game, which FSU won by a score of 18-16 over Nebraska.

Does sound like great pick-up.

Gilbert Cavs team President owns Fathead and he lowered the price on Lebron fathead to $17.41. The significance of 1741 was that was the year Benedict Arnold was born.

If playing in a bowl game with a chance at a NC was a major criteria why in the world would So. FL., K-State, TX Tech or Baylor have even been on his radar? I don't believe any of those schools will be playing for a NC within the next 2 years which is all he has left.

Precisely. Because he has only two years left, he will never be able to play in a bowl game or a NC game if he stays at USC, no matter how well the Trojans do over the next couple of years. I doubt that he will be playing in a BCSNC game with Florida State, although that isn't an impossibility, whereas at USC, it will be. And he definitely will have a good chance to play in a bowl game with FSU in both his last years. Texas Tech might have given him the same opportunity. Not so sure about USF, KSU or Baylor.

Hello, mother. I come bearing a gift. I'll give you a hint. It's in my diaper and it's not a toaster.
