I'll never forget going into Solider Field when they replaced the old Astro Turf for grass. I was able to go right onto field as no one around and I'll never forget saying. WTF, this is thinner then many of HS fields I played on. This is some cheap sod. No great shock to me it was coming up in chucks in the 1st preseason game about few weeks later that year.
24 years later and same old cheap Chicago Park District using cheap sod to save money.
